Creats rules to filter new messages
Using email rules is an easy way to keep your inbox organized by automatically sorting messages. With Hushmail, you can create simple rules that move emails from specific senders into the folders you choose, so important messages are always where you want them to be.
How to create an email rule
Follow these steps to create a rule that filters messages from a specific sender:
- Open an email from the sender you want to filter.
- Click "Create a rule."
- Choose the folder where you'd like future emails from this sender to go.
- Click "Save."
From now on, any new messages from that sender will be automatically moved to your chosen folder.
If you want to create a new folder for this rule, simply select "a new folder" at the top of the folder list when setting up the rule.
Note: If a message you want in your Inbox ends up in your Junk folder, creating an email rule won’t fix this. Instead, go to your Junk folder and mark the message as "Not spam." This option is only available when the message is in the Junk folder, and it will help direct future emails from that sender to your Inbox.
How to manage email rules
- Editing a Rule: To change the folder for a rule, open an email from the sender, click "Edit rule," choose a new destination folder, and save.
- Deleting a Rule: If you no longer want to filter emails from a specific sender, open an email from them, click "Edit rule," select "Inbox" as the new destination folder, and save.
Note: If you delete a folder that is being used in a rule, Hushmail will automatically recreate the folder to ensure no emails are lost.
Using these simple rules can help keep your inbox organized and make managing your messages easier!
