How do I set up a catch-all email address?

Hushmail Business accounts can be configured so that all email sent to an address on the Hushmail Business domain for which no account exists will be directed to a designated email address. This is called a catch-all address.

Domain administrators can set up a catch-all email address as follows:

  1. Sign into Hushtools with your administrator account.
  2. Next, click on the Domains link located on the left of the page.
  3. Next, click on Configure Domain and scroll down to the Catch-all Email Address section, and enter the email address that you wish to use for the catch-all email address.
  4. When you have entered the email address you wish to use scroll to the bottom of the screen and click on the Save button.

Tip: Catch-all addresses can save you money and help organize your email, especially when used in conjunction with email forwarding. Instead of having an email address for each account you wish to receive email at, you can set up one email address and make that address the catch-all address for your domain. Alternatively, you could create an email address such as user@yourdomain.com, and then create forwarding rules for sales@yourdomain.com, contact@yourdomain.com, and info@yourdomain.com to forward to user@yourdomain.com. You could then set up another email address like catchall@yourdomain.com which you can use as the catch-all to receive all other email sent to your domain.
