Use email templates

Email templates let you save the messages you send most often, like a welcome email for new clients or a payment reminder, and reuse them in a couple of clicks. A template keeps its subject, text, formatting, attachments, and forms, so you only fill in the details that change.

Note: If you don’t see a Templates folder in your folder list, email templates may not be included in your plan. Contact our Customer Care team to find out which plans include them.

Create a template

  1. Sign in to your Hushmail account and click the Templates folder.
  2. Click Create template.

  1. Type a Name so you can find the template later. Your recipients see the Subject, not the name.
  2. Add a Subject and write your message. You can format text, Insert photos, Attach files, and Add form.
  3. Click Save changes.

For details that change each time, like a client’s name or appointment time, use a placeholder in brackets, such as [Client’s Name], so it’s easy to spot before you send. To change a template later, open it and click Edit.

Note: Don’t add your signature to a template. If you have a default signature set up, Hushmail adds it automatically when you write a new email.

Start from an example template

Ready-made templates for common situations in a healthcare practice are listed under Example templates at the top of the Templates folder.

  1. Click an example template to preview it.
  2. Click Get this template to add it to your saved templates, where you can edit it or use it straight away.

Send an email from a template

  1. Click Compose, then click Choose template.
  2. Click the template you want. If you have a lot of templates, type in the Search templates box to find one.

  1. Replace any placeholders, add your recipient in the To field, and click Send.

You can also click Use template on any saved template in the Templates folder to start a new email from it.
