Troubleshooting iPhone (IMAP)

If you ran into either "Cannot Connect Using SSL" or "Cannot Get Mail" errors while attempting to set up your Hushmail account with your iPhone, please follow these steps -

Tap Yes/OK on the messages that appear.  You'll be notified that you may not be able to send mail. Tap Save

Tap Save again on the page that appears

You will then need to edit the account settings. Select your newly added Hushmail account

Tap Account Settings

Scroll to the bottom, and select Advanced

Ensure that your incoming server settings are configured correctly:

Use SSL:  On/Enabled

Authentication: Password

Server Port: 993

(all other settings are not applicable or required)

When finished, tap the back arrow (top left) and go back to the previous screen.  From there, select SMTP   smtp.hushmail.com

Tap on smtp.hushmail.com

Ensure that our outgoing server settings are configured correctly:

Host Name: smtp.hushmail.com

User Name: your full email address

Password: your password  (Apple may indicate here that it's Optional, but it is required in order to send email)

Use SSL: On/Enabled

Authentication: Password

Server Port: 587 *Note: an alternate port 465 can also be used if you cannot connect using 587

After making any necessary changes, tap Done. Your account may take a moment to verify.

This should complete your account setup.

If, after these changes, you're still unable to connect to your account, please contact our Customer Care team. We'd be happy to help.
