Use Hushmail with NameCheap

Note: These instructions are for customers who are using their own website/domain name, like yourpractice.com, which they have registered through NameCheap.

To send and receive email with your Hushmail account, you need to update your DNS records in NameCheap. DNS records help direct your email correctly and reduce the chances your messages will end up in spam. Follow these steps to update your MX, SPF, DKIM, and DMARC records in .

Getting started

  1. Sign in to your NameCheap account.
  2. On the left panel, click on Domain List.
  3. To the right of your domain name click on Manage.
  4. On the next page, click on Advanced DNS.



Add 2 MX records

  1. Next to Mail Settings make sure you have Custom MX selected.
  2. Under Mail Settings add the following record:
  3. Click Save All Changes, then click Add New Record with the following:
  4. Click Save All Changes.
  5. Delete any other MX records.


Add an SPF record

  1. At the top of the page, under Host Records click Add New Record with:
    • Type: TXT Record
    • Host: @
    • Content: v=spf1 include:_spf.hushmail.com -all
    • TTL: Automatic
  2. Click Save All Changes.


Add a DKIM record

  1. At the top of the page, under Host Records click Add New Record with:
  2. Click Save All Changes.


Add a DMARC record

  1. At the top of the page, under Host Records click Add New Record with:
    • Type: TXT Record
    • Host: _DMARC
    • Value: v=DMARC1; p=quarantine; pct=100
    • TTL: Automatic
  2. Click Save All Changes.

Note: After updating your DNS records, it may take some time for the changes to take effect. After 15 minutes, use our DNS checking tool to ensure everything is pointing in the right direction. If you continue need help, please contact our Customer Care Team.
