Objective:
This article will teach you how to update your existing domain’s MX records to point to Hushmail if you have a domain registered on Network Solutions.
Why you need to set your MX records:
Mail Exchanger (MX) records are the part of DNS records that direct email to specific servers on the Internet. Before Hushmail can receive mail for your domain, you’ll need to configure the MX records.
1. Sign in to Network Solutions
2. Choose the appropriate domain
Find the domain you’d like to manage in the dropdown list under My Domain Names and click the Go button.
3. Select Change Where Domain Points
You can find this option in the green box.
4. Select Advanced DNS
Click the Continue button.
If the domain name was not previously pointed to Network Solutions® nameservers (DNS) you will receive a page with messaging regarding this change. If you’d like to continue, click the Move Nameservers to Network Solutions® button
5. In the Mail Servers (MX Records) section, click Edit MX Records
6. Remove existing MX records
Your current MX records are listed in editable form, and any Network Solutions® service that is associated with the MX record is listed under the Mail Server text box - remove these records.
7. Type in new MX record
Enter the following MX record in the Mail Server text box and its associated priority number in the Priority text box:
Host:
Points to: plsmtp1.hushmail.com
Priority: 10
Host:
Points to: plsmtp2.hushmail.com
