Objective:
This article will teach you how to update your existing domain’s MX records to point to Hushmail if you have a domain registered on Register.com.
Why you need to set your MX records:
Mail Exchanger (MX) records are the part of DNS records that direct email to specific servers on the Internet. Before Hushmail can receive mail for your domain, you’ll need to configure the MX records.
1. Sign in to Register.com
2. Select Domains
3. Select Manage
Find the row that contains the name of the domain that you want to modify; and then, in that row, select Manage.
4. Scroll to the Advanced Technical Settings section and select Edit Mail Exchanger Records
5. Type in the values for the following two records
1st MX record:
Host name: @
Priority: High
Mail Server: plsmtp1.hushmail.com
2nd MX record
Host name: @
Priority: High
Mail Server: plsmtp2.hushmail.com
