POP & IMAP server hostnames and ports

POP & IMAP servers are used to retrieve your email from Hushmail. If your email software asks you to choose between POP or IMAP, we recommend choosing IMAP.

IMAP server

Server hostname: imap.hushmail.com
Port number: 993
SSL: Enabled

Troubleshooting IMAP

The most common issue that people have when configuring IMAP is that the SSL option has not been selected. Check that you have enabled the SSL option in your email program and that you have entered port number 993.

POP server

Server hostname: pop.hushmail.com
Port number: 995
SSL: Enabled

Troubleshooting POP

The most common issue that people have when configuring POP is that the SSL option has not been selected. Check that you have enabled the SSL option in your email program and that you have entered port number 995.

SMTP server hostname and port

SMTP is used to send email using your Hushmail address. You'll know that you have configured SMTP correctly when you are able to send email from your Hushmail address to another email account.

SMTP server

Server hostname: smtp.hushmail.com
Port: 25
TLS: Enabled

Troubleshooting SMTP

If you're having trouble sending email, try again with the following alternate SMTP server settings:

Alternate SMTP server 1

Server hostname: smtp.hushmail.com
Port: 587
SSL: Enabled (instead of TLS)

Alternate SMTP server 2

Server hostname: smtp.hushmail.com
Port: 465
SSL: Enabled (instead of TLS)
